I was going through the toughest time in my life and that’s when I was approached by Liz Dawn Donahue of Mishka Productions to make Malas as a jewelry line for CYL - Celebrate Your Life.
I always had admired Malas but was seriously afraid to attempt them. So this meant that I had to break through a fear. And fear I surely pushed through. I began researching how to make them. I looked at different mala patterns to create one that stood out, that spoke ~ this was created by Tara Marie Jack. I decided to create my own pattern. I decided to bring forth my love & understanding of the power of numerology. This is where the patterns of nine 11 count beads came to play.
This is how the pattern I use came through:
The 108 beads in a pattern of 11. The number 11 is a master number, acting as two pillars of strength. The number 11 helps to remind us to be present in the Now.
This is the message that came through me intuitively to push out to the World.
Next was the sacred process of making them. I saw an instructional video on these and the instructor talked about how she made a blessing in each knot.
Then it dawned on me to use the sacred Sanskrit chants that I use for my personal self. All of my jewelry is created with Sanskrit music-infused as I create. But for the Malas, I wanted to go deeper & began infusing these chants:
Om Shanti - Peace
Om Radha Krishnaya Namaha - Joy
Om Shreem Malakshmiyei Namaha - Abundance
Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha - Removal of Emotional Blocks
I noticed as I created more and more of these that my personal life began to shift. My feelings of pain began to fade. My channel of connection to spirit began to be opened up again. My joy began to fill my days again. My abundance began to flow again. And most importantly, my peace began to be restored.
I wasn’t aware of the connection to it until much later. I did notice that every time I would create a mala, it sold quite quickly. The more I created them, the better I felt. It was like this huge dark cloud had been lifted away.
After some time had passed, I realized that the two aspects of my life were intertwined. The more I recited and infused these sacred chants into my Malas, the more I felt better, the more my life began to reflect peace, joy & abundance. The most important part of this story is the emotional blocks began to dissipate.
I have always been able to see how experiences and connections with others have been placed before me to help me along my path. The Universe will always give you what you need, when you need it.
In this case, the darkness that was plaguing me was able to be lifted through none other than this connection I had had with Liz to create a mala for their company. It was this simple connection that lifted that heaviness in my life. It brought me back to a heart-centered life filled with peace, joy, abundance and most importantly the removal of the traumas that were lodged within me.
Now, I can say Malas are one of the most cherished pieces that I create. I recognize what the process has done for myself and I get excited for others to feel that energy in their own lives when they wear them or meditate with them.
Every time you run your fingers through each bead & knot; you are invoking the chants infused into it.
